Laurence has had a 30-year career in the information, media and communication industries. After an early career at Virgin and the SEMA Group he was a director of Frost & Sullivan, before moving to McGraw Hill, where he was a vice-president in its computer and communications group. He then went on to found AIM listed Internet Technology Group plc in 1995 and successfully negotiated its sale in 2000 for almost £150 million. Laurence was also instrumental in the creation of Pipex Communications plc. He has interests in a range of leisure and TMT businesses and currently holds a number of directorships in public and private UK companies. He is a Governor of the University of Kingston.
